PROFILE
Shohei Ohtani was born in Iwate Prefecture in 1994. Selected first overall in the 2012 Nippon Professional Baseball Draft, he joined the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and gained attention for his two-way role as both pitcher and hitter. In 2018, he moved to Major League Baseball, where he has achieved tremendous success on the sport’s biggest stage.
