For over half a century, Seiko has been at the forefront of world sport, supporting international events, including six Olympic Games, four soccer World Cups and twelve athletics World Championships. Today, our commitment to sport is wider than ever, and is expressed in our partnerships with a rising star of Russian athletics, Darya Klishina, and the world’s leading tennis player, Novak Djokovic.
Since the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964, Seiko has proudly assisted international sport with world-leading timing technologies and services. Today, Seiko supports a wide range of sports, from track and field athletics (IAAF) to sailing (The 49er and 29erXX Associations). Whatever the sport, Seiko's tradition of excellence in sports continues.
In 1985, the IAAF invited Seiko to be its timing partner for all its major international athletics championships. Seiko has provided timing systems and personnel to no less than 10 World Championships, 5 Indoor Championships and many other international class events. At major championships, Seiko's team will comprise over 40 skilled and full time engineers.
Seiko and PADI share a passion for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of divers and for protection of the marine environment, so a partnership felt very right.
