Two slim, modern creations inspired by heritage join
the King Seiko collection.

The refinement and elegance of the original 1965 KSK inspire the new series.

Though it was not the first King Seiko watch, the 1965 King Seiko KSK was, with its sharp, angular case and high functionality, the one that ultimately defined King Seiko’s character. With its resistance to water and use of a hacking seconds hand, the King Seiko KSK was more than bold and beautiful. It was an eminently practical watch that earned legions of fans. Since 2022, Seiko has revived this classic style in the King Seiko collection while endowing the resulting watches with the modern enhancements of contemporary watchmaking. Today, Seiko introduces two new timepieces inspired by the classic KSK, each powered by the slimline Caliber 6L35. This marks the movement's first appearance in the main King Seiko collection.

The new creations are thinner than their manually wound vintage inspiration.

Each of the two new creations features an elegant dial befitting a watch bearing the King Seiko signature. The first is silver-colored and has a new sunray finishing technique that endows the watch with a finish more understated and delicate than previous KSK-based creations, resulting in a look that is even closer to the original.

The second features a new shade of black created especially to harmonize with the new case design, making for a sophisticated presence.

The new creations present a classic yet modern profile.

On each new creation, the hour and minute hands are faceted, demonstrating the high-quality manufacturing used to craft modern timepieces that honor the King Seiko legacy and advance the collection into today’s era. On the black dial, the hands have a fine hairline finish that heightens the level of contrast with the dial’s dark surface and enhances legibility.

A refined case design with slimmer lugs graces each new watch. They are faceted, with large, flat planes and sharp angles. The surfaces are polished to achieve a distortion-free, mirror finish, causing the cases to reflect light in a pleasing manner that complements the new dials. The combination of an angular case with a flat dial with faceted hands effectively captures the refinement of the original 1965 KSK.

A box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface delivers high legibility from any angle.

Not only are the new watches slimmer than the previous limited-edition King Seiko watches that also used the 6L35 movement, but they are also 0.2mm thinner than the original King Seiko KSK, despite having automatic winding and a date window. This is made possible thanks to enhancements in the case construction and the boxed-shaped crystal whose height has been reduced.

Combined with the elegant bracelet, an artful melding of proportions, design, and functionality results in watches capable of moving gracefully with wearers as they go about their daily lives, from relaxed to formal situations and everywhere in between.

Both watches will be available at the Seiko Boutiques and select retail stores worldwide from July 2023.
