Original model
This solar chronograph watches inherits the iconic designs and styles of the Speedtimer series from the 1960s-70s.
All watches are powered by Seiko’s solar Caliber V192, which has a 60-minute chronograph, a 24-hour sub-dial, and features a power reserve indicator that is displayed at the touch of a button.

The dial is applied sandblast finishing which ensure high levels of readability and legibility crucial to a Prospex sports watch.

Design
The case shape is faithful to the original but its 39mm diameter, the combination of hairline and smooth polishing on the bracelet and the curved sapphire glass bring it right up to date.

Bezel & Dial
The distinctive colouring of the aluminium bezel and hands on the dial inherits the iconic designs of the original Speedtimer creations. The combination of colours gives the new watches a definite presence on the wrist.
The chronograph second hand and the minute hand at 6 o'clock are both red to enhance the legibility of the chronograph function. -

Index
The seconds markers are located on the inner bezel ring so that the indexes can be large and highly visible, giving the watch a powerful and sports feel.
The hour and minute hands and all twelve indexes are coated with Lumibrite so that the time of day can be read even in low light conditions.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the world's first analog quartz chronograph, launched by Seiko in 1983. The legacy of timekeeping innovation continues with a new model powered by the Caliber 8A50, a new solar chronograph movement whose stopwatch function can measure up to 1/100th of a second.

The stopwatch display has independent sub-dials for each unit of measurement to enhance legibility while providing a distinctive design.
The chronograph hands are coloured in contrast to the hue of the sub-dials to further ensure high legibility. -

World Athletics Championships

Seiko is pleased to announce that it will participate in the 19th World Athletics Championships, which will be held from August 19 to 27, 2023, at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Hungary.
Since signing a sponsorship agreement with World Athletics in 1985, Seiko has been the official timer of the world's most prestigious track and field event 18 consecutive times.
