Seiko Prospex

Concept

Inspired by the lush green of Yakushima's primeval cedar forests, the limited edition is fashioned with a dark green dial. Yakushima is Japan's first Natural World Heritage site, and like our Prospex watches, Yakushima's diving sites are renowned for their exceptional visibility. The green of Yakushima breathes new life into this classic diver's design.

Yakushima

Yakushima is located in the south of Japan and registered as Japan's first Natural World Heritage site in 1993. As well as being a World Natural Heritage Site because of its forests, Yakushima is a much loved destination for the diving community, thanks to its crystal clear waters, coral reefs and abundant marine life.

Feature

The deep green dial

Its signature feature is the green color. This rich shade of green reflects the lush tones of the ancient cedar trees on the island of Yakushima at the southern end of the Japanese archipelago.

A bezel designed for a purpose

The professional level of the specifications becomes clear when you study the precise and secure operation of the uni-directional bezel. Its 120 ratchet design delivers more precise use and greater safety and the deep grooves make its operation easier and more secure, even at depth.

Highly durable zirconia ceramic bezel

The Zirconia ceramic will last a lifetime and longer, protecting the watch from rust and scratches so that the beauty of its deep green color endures for years to come, just as the verdant beauty of the forests of Yakushima has always remained pristine.

Special LumiBrite

A special long-lasting LumiBrite coating on the hands ensures legibility at greater depths for longer than ever before. The 5, 10, 15, and 20 minute markers on the uni-directional rotating bezel are also coated in this new LumiBrite, adding extra security for divers.
