Learning to play tennis
No one has touched a tennis racket in my family before. It was not a traditional thing. So, it was decided by someone else that I'm gonna be playing tennis. And it was a love at the first sight. I spent so many hours on the court. As every child, I was full of joy because I loved being on the tennis court. And it gave me happiness and the presence feeling stayed up to today.
Life lessons from my parents
There are obviously features that I inherited or learned from my parents. I think father's strong character, fighting spirit, resilience, never-give-up kind of attitude always, was present in my life. And he taught me really that no obstacle will take away my dream. That's kind of an approach I had in life, Mother's discipline and kindness and compassion, I kind of balance the two.
To play as a top athlete
I believe fully in a holistic approach to life because every thought that you have, every act that you do, affects a greater picture of you as a being, and your success in your life, in your career, in your work, whatever it is. the way you treat yourself, the way you treat others, the way you treat the planet, When I say the way you treat yourself, you mentioned food, nutrition how much you sleep, how effective, you are in recoveries. For a professional athlete that's very important, how you prepare, how you train. Of course, it's very important.
What keeps you going forward?
what is more important than winning a tennis match or losing a tennis match is really understanding who you are in the process of winning or losing, and who you become, and what happens on the tennis court and pre-match, post-match, and on the tournament and in the season.
How does that affect you in the grander scheme of things of your own evolution. taking certain aspects and certain things from that loss and using it to grow.
Novak Djokovicʼs “Keep Going Forward”
It does resonate really with me because, regardless of what is happening in life, you still need to keep going forward and kind of see things, on a brighter side and understand that everything life is kind of throwing at you that there is a reason for that. And that's your evolution, part of who you are, part of your path and your journey. So, keep going forward means, translates to keep growing, keep evolving and keep striving to be the best that you can be.
“Follow your heart”
follow your heart, because your heart is it makes no mistake and, it's clearly going to tell you what your purpose is. today, more than ever, we live from from our heads, from our minds all the time and we forget about the connection with the heart. The heart is always going to give us the answers that, that we need in the way.
