Darya Klishina wins gold again!
At the 2013 European Indoor Championships in Goteborg, Sweden last weekend, Seikos partner, Darya Klishina, won the gold medal in the long jump, retaining the title she first won two years ago. Her opening jump was a spectacular 7.01 meters, which is not only a new indoors personal best for Darya, but is also the best jump in the world this year. The margin of her victory was emphatic and her excellent early season form bodes well for the outdoors events in which Darya will compete in the summer.
Darya Klishina, still just 22, rose to prominence at the World Youth Championships in 2007, when she won gold at the age of 17. Since then, she has made steady progress through the ranks of her sport, winning the European Indoor title in 2011 and coming fourth in the World Indoors in 2012. Seiko has served as the official timing and measurement partner at many of the events where Darya has met with success, including the World Youth Championships in 2007, where we first met her. She has been a Seiko partner since 2012 and we are doing all we can to support her as she looks to progress further in the coming months and years.
Darya Klishina and Seiko. A winning partnership.
