The new Premier Collection captures the essence of Baselworld.
March 14, 2012
Premier is Seiko’s leading dress watch collection and has been a worldwide success for many years, first in Europe but now all over the world. Its appeal lies in the synthesis of the modern with the classic. The exterior design is inspired by the classical architecture but with a modern twist. This same duality is also expressed in the movements within. The traditional cases enclose some of the most advanced watch calibers on earth.
The star of the 2012 Premier collection is the new double retrograde chronograph. It measures elapsed time with 1/5 second precision, displaying it on two dials. Classic and modern. Traditional and advanced.
While the Premier collection first found favor in Europe, its appeal, like that of Baselworld itself, is now global. And this global appeal is very evident from the way that some of the new models are displayed. There are designs exclusively for the Asian market that are presented by the well-known singer-songwriter, Wang Leehom. And where was the photograph taken? Inside the British Museum in London. Like Baselworld itself, Premier is a celebration of internationality.
Baselworld 2012 is drawing to a close. On these pages tomorrow, we will try to give you a sense of the whole event.
