Nine days have passed since we opened our stand on the Press Day, and now we are closing it for the last time this year. The stand deserves a rest! During the fair, it was busier than ever, and it hosted over 600 meetings in its 21 rooms.
The fair was pleasing for us not just because of the "traffic". Our visitors this year saw sides to SEIKO of which they were unaware.
There have been quite a few visitors who were surprised by the fact that SEIKO was founded as long ago as 1881 and that we are celebrating our 130th anniversary this year.
Similarly, there were many who were unaware of the extraordinary skills and capabilities of the Micro Artist Studio in Shiojiri. Everyone congratulated SEIKO on the introduction of Credor Spring Drive Minute Repeater.
And, of course, our new partnership with FC Barcelona was big news for everyone. FCB has more than 11 million fans on Facebook alone and is respected in every corner of the world. By the way, more than 25,000 people are enjoying active communication at the SEIKO's Facebook fan site and we hope you will also join this community.
Overall the Fair has been a huge success, not just for SEIKO, but for everyone. There were over 100,000 visitors and 3,000 representatives of the media, and there were significant increases in both categories.
With the earthquake, tsunami and other issues, we at SEIKO and everyone in Japan needed some good news and Baselworld 2011 provided it. Everyone at Baselworld saw that the global economy is growing again and this gives us great confidence for the rest of the year. When the news from home is so dark, it is important to believe in hope!
Thank you very much for reading our daily report. As we say goodbye from Baselworld, we would like to express again our sincere gratitude to everyone for their warm and encouraging words.
We look forward to seeing you again in the next year's edition of SEIKO Baselworld Special Site, and please get in touch whenever you have questions or comments about SEIKO.
