The FC Barcelona Chronograph
Baselworld 2011 is, as always, the mecca for sports watch enthusiasts and many brands are, once again, displaying their watchmaking prowess in sports watches of all types. SEIKO is, of course, one such brand, but with a difference. SEIKO has 50 years of experience in timing sport at the highest level and this long experience at the cutting edge of sport has allowed us to make a new sports watch that delivers exactly what the true sportsman really needs.

SEIKO Timing Equipments
SEIKO’s close relationship with sports began in 1964 when we timed the Tokyo Olympic Games. For these Games, SEIKO did something unprecedented and unparalleled. We custom-built all the timing equipment especially for the events, a total of 1,278 devices. Since then, we have timed five more Olympic Games, eleven IAAF World Championships and many other world class sports events. This year, the 13th IAAF World Championships will take place in Daegu, Korea, and once again SEIKO will serve as the official timer of the event. On our Baselworld stand, a miniature track and field is displayed to show how the SEIKO official timing system works, measuring athletes performances to 1/1,000th second.
SEIKO, Official Watch Partner of FC Barcelona

The all-new 2011 Sportura collection has a new, distinctive design that fits perfectly to the wrist and is supremely legible and easy to use in any sport. It is presented in a special showcase that announces SEIKO’s partnership with FC Barcelona, the world’s strongest football team. Here at Baselworld, the new Sportura and its promotional program are attracting huge amounts of interest from all over the world. It seems that experience pays off!
