SEIKO inaugurates its new stand at Baselworld
On Thursday, April 3, when the Baselworld 2008 exhibition opened its doors, visitors were greeted by a remarkable new sight in the Hall of Dreams. Seiko’s new stand, “The Cube”, offered a striking profile, with its sharp, white lines and its dramatic presentation of the 2008 collection. The Cube reflects the character of Seiko. The simplicity and impact of the rectangular exterior expresses the clarity of Seiko’s vision of Innovation and Refinement, while the stone that lines the inner atrium speaks of the strength of the technology that lies within each and every Seiko timepiece

New stand “The Cube” becomes the focus of visitors' attention
The stand was officially opened by the President of Seiko Watch Corporation, Mr. Shinji Hattori, accompanied by Ms. Evi Kalligeris and Mr. Sibjǿrn Bergh, who are Seiko’s long-standing and very successful representatives in Greece and Norway, respectively. At the ceremony, journalists and Seiko partners from all over the world saw a ribbon cut and witnessed the unveiling of the remarkable Spring Drive Spacewalk in the main showcase of the stand.

In a statement released today, Baselworld paid generous tribute to the new stand:
“Baselworld is delighted to see the new Seiko exhibition stand at this year's Show. It is a dramatic addition to the Hall of Dreams and we welcome it as it adds to the prestige and luxury of the whole Show.”

New collections are showcased along “Crystal Canyon”

“Stone Square” is surrounded by 9-meter lofty walls of rock
Behind the striking white façade, The Cube opens up to reveal the “Crystal Canyon” where over 50 entirely new designs are showcased. And, at the centre of the stand, is an open atrium, known as “Stone Square”, where the story of Seiko is told in a series of exhibits, both on film and in print.
Baselworld 2008 continues until Thursday, April 10.
