Seiko’s 130th anniversary celebrations come to New York.
New York, U.S.A
On October 17, Seiko’s 130th anniversary was celebrated in style at an event attended by over 100 media representatives at the Chelsea Arts Tower, overlooking the Hudson River.
Guests were able to see at first hand the 130th Anniversary collection, timepieces which were created especially to commemorate this landmark and which exemplify both Seiko’s illustrious past and its continuing commitment to innovation. Attention centered on the Limited Edition Grand Seiko creations, Ananta and the new Sportura and Tressia collections.
Most intriguingly of all for the guests was the exhibition of craftsmanship by Mr. Hideo Fukai, a Master Craftsman from Seiko’s facility, Shinshu Watch Studio in Nagano, Japan. He assembled the 5R86 movement, Spring Drive Chronograph, to demonstrate the skill and dedication to perfection that go into every Seiko luxury watch.
The watchmakers actions were projected by a live video feed to the wall.
